I created this Merry Pennant Banner for Christmas. I feel it’s cheerful and Christmassy even though it’s simple and clean. I’ve strung it up with twine and haven’t added any other decorations or embellishments to it so far. I can’t decide to leave it beautifully simple or to add more….
For it’s first Christmas I left it as is however maybe I’ll add to it as time goes by.
I created this banner using the pennants and stenciles from the Build A Banner Kit by Stampin’ Up! Other supplies you need are really just sponges and ink. As many or as few inks as you want. Depends on your theme or holiday and word.
I suggest using sponges or sponge daubers to apply the ink to the fabric pennants instead of the mister sprayers they give in the kit. Works WAAAAAY better trust me. The sprayers cause the ink to run or bleed. The sponge will give you crisp letters and patterns.
All you do is choose the word for the banner and get your letters from all the stencils in the kit. Then choose your patterns for each pennant from the stencils. Decide on the pennants and pattern order for your banner and finally choose your colors. Then sponge away! You can measure out where you want the circle to be on each pennant but I just winged it and it worked out fine.
Once the ink is dry string on each pennant with the twine provided or a ribbon you already have. I completely forgot to photograph this banner hanging! aurgh. You could recreate it with paper or canvas. To me it’s fun and festive. I hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by and have a Glittery Day.
