Butterfly Birthday Party Banner and Tissue Paper Poms-PomsAt my daughters first birthday party I had made a banner that said ‘Happy Birthday’ and another that said her name ‘Betty’. Yes my daughters name is Betty! I hung them on opposite walls however you could hang it all together. I made the pennants with Stampin’ Up! Card Stock and Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper Stack in the Brights Collection. I love the Designer Series Paper Stacks. The pennants are 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ so you get 3 per sheet. The colors I decided on for her party were Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo, Regal Rose and Daffodil Delight. I then used the new Labels Collection Framelits Dies from the Occasions Mini Catalogue with the Big Shot in the same colors to layer on top and finished with the letters layered on the top. I added a few Whisper White Butterflies randomly on a few pennants. I cut them using the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die and the Big Shot. This type of die embosses as it cuts 5 butterflies and is very very versatile for only $14.95. I’ve used these butterflies everywhere. Finally Ribbon hung the pennant banner up and I used both Whisper White Satin Ribbon and Pretty In Pink Grosgrain Ribbon. You can watch my video How To Make Pennants for a Banner ♡ Fast & Easy below.

The other main decoration I did was tissue paper pom-poms hanging from the ceiling. These look sort of like Dahlia flowers. I hung them up with fishing line and 3M hooks on the ceiling. This way they look like they’re floating and I don’t have any tack or tape marks anywhere. I’ll upload a video as soon as I can.I kept the same color scheme making one of each. I bought packs of tissue paper at one of my favorite dollar stores. You get a pack of 20 sheets for $1 and it’s good tissue paper with great colors to pick from. Watch my video here to make them yourself.

For the Dessert Table or Candy Table I made Cake Pops, Chocolate Dipped Marshmallows, Butterfly Sugar Cookies, Birthday Cake, fruit with chocolate Dip, and some gummi candy. I opted not to fill a bunch of jars with candy even though the look is fantastic, I just didn’t want all the extra sugar for my guests. Amy Atlas makes absolutely beautiful Candy Tables that are amazing and super inspirational, check out her Eye Candy Pages.
